WELCOME
The purpose of the Augustinian Order consists in this, that united harmoniously in brotherhood and spiritual friendship, we seek and worship God and work for the service of his people. In this way, we share in the Church’s work of evangelization bringing the Good News to the whole world so that we may thus transform the world from within. This is our witness. This site is designed especially for members of the Augustinian Family, and at the same time we hope that other visitors will feel at home and be able to learn something about who we are, our life, our spirituality, our commitment to building community and whiles you are here, you will also discover something about the myriad of ways that we serve others throughout the world.

Who We Are
Order Of St. Augustine, Province Of Nigeria
The Augustinian Order has come a long way in Nigeria; its current status as a Province is a testament to this fact. However, although it has attained now this position (a Province), it is important to note that the early Augustinians whose work led to this achievement never (at the beginning) envisaged that such will happen. This is because at the time they set out for Nigeria, their sole goal was to evangelize, i.e., to plant the Catholic-Christian faith in their host communities and environs.
MEET SAINT AUGUSTINE
Father, Patron, and Inspiration
Saint Augustine of Hippo (354–430 AD) stands as one of the greatest theologians, philosophers, and spiritual masters in Christian history. Born in Thagaste, in present-day Algeria, Augustine grew up with a Christian mother, St. Monica, and a pagan father. His early life was marked by intellectual curiosity and a restless search for meaning, leading him through various philosophies and lifestyles before his dramatic conversion to Christianity at age 32.
After his conversion, Augustine dedicated himself fully to God. He was ordained a priest, then later became the Bishop of Hippo, where he served for over 30 years. His ministry focused on preaching, teaching, defending the faith, and guiding his community through political, social, and spiritual challenges.
